JOSEPH L. BROWNLEE has been an Arizona Trial Attorney since 1972.  Mr. Brownlee’s law practice is dedicated to the representation of amusement parks, fairs, rodeos, family entertainment centers, water parks, carnivals, batting cages, go-kart tracks, roller skating rinks, other amusement and leisure attractions, bars, restaurants, civic, business, non-profit organizations, and dram shop cases throughout Arizona.  As Past-President from 2003 – 2005 and Member of the Board of Directors since 1997 of the International Amusement and Leisure Defense Association (IALDA), Mr. Brownlee has been a national public speaker and faculty member at the International Association of Amusement Park and Attractions (IAAPA), Amusement Industry Manufacturers & Suppliers International (AIMS), World Waterpark Association (WWA), Fun Expo of the International Association for the Leisure & Entertainment Industry (IALEI), Bowling Proprietors Association of America (BPAA), and Roller Skating Association (RSA). 


As such, Mr. Brownlee is a frequent national speaker in the areas of trial strategy, trial techniques, risk management, safety, maintenance, operations, incident investigations, ADA, and legal defense.


Since 1972, Mr. Brownlee has been a veteran Courtroom Lawyer throughout the State of Arizona in State and Federal Courts as well as all Federal and State Appellate Courts.  Mr. Brownlee graduated from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington, Indiana and was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court in 1980.


Mr. Brownlee is active in Arizona civic, community and State Bar of Arizona. In addition to his vast Courtroom career, he is also a Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Pro Tem and an Arbitrator.  From 2003 – 2005, Mr. Brownlee was Chairman of the Board of Directors of the North Phoenix Chamber of Commerce.  Mr. Brownlee served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force in the Judge Advocate General’s Office from 1972 to 1976.
